The Amaro’s name recalls the German school with the exclamation “Wunderbar!”, wonderful. The recipe was brought to Italy by a Luparia’s family relative who worked in Germany: after tasting this Amaro he loved it and probably called “Wonderful!”, raising up the glass. It is still made according to the ancient recipe, with infusions of natural herbs which are aged in durmast barrels. The ancient label reported “stark” to indicate the high alcohol content: 35%.
